EXHIBITOR’S ENTRY DATE: Wednesday, August 9 between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Entries brought after this time cannot be judged.

ENTRY FEE: Adults, Section C, D, E (19 years & older): $1.00

Youth, Section A, B, (18 years & younger): $0.50

PRIZE MONEY: 1ST – $5, 2ND – $4, 3RD – $3

Rosettes: Best image of Chilliwack, Best in Section, Best in Show & People’s Choice, Participant Ribbons for all Elementary School Exhibitors • You must present your claim tag to collect your exhibit and prize money which will be released Sunday, August 13 at 5 p.m. After Sunday, items will be available in the Fair Office 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Thursday, August 17. The office will not be staffed after this date. See instructions in Notice to Exhibitors.

RULES:

1. Exhibitors may only enter ONE competition level, and only ONE entry per class.

2. All entries must be marked on the back with the exhibitor’s name, phone number, section, and class being entered, and an arrow indicating the top of the picture. No identification mark or printing of any kind is permitted on the front of any print.

3. All photos to be mounted on a firm white background (not paper) with 1” border framing picture. No black or other colour permitted on any print front. No frames allowed.

4. Images previously shown at the Fair will not be accepted. The judgment of the photography committee is final.

5. All photographs must be taken by the exhibitor.

6. All entries submitted by the same exhibitor must be distinctly different from each other. For example: identical photos/images may not be entered under different classes.

7. Images which are considered to be objectionable or offensive will not be allowed to compete or be displayed.

8. Anyone submitting entries warrants that they are the lawful owners of the image copyright, that the images have been legally obtained and created, and that they have all the necessary model and property releases pertaining to their images.

9. Both colour and/or black and white images will be accepted. Participation ribbons will be awarded to all youth 12 and under. Macro images allowed for Nature and Things.

SECTION A: PRE-TEEN (Age 12 & under)

Print size: 5”x7” or 8”x10”

CLASSES:

1. People – portraits, candids, photojournalism (pictures that tell a story), sports or action images and any other image where people are the predominate subject.

2. Animals – including pets, zoo animals, farm animals, rodeo animals, and wild animals.

3. Nature – includes flowers, fruits, vegetables, insects, aquatic life, amphibians, etc.

4. Landscape – includes seascapes, cityscapes, sunrise and sunset shots, skies, and architecture.

5. Things – anything not listed above: i.e. still life, cars, toys, machinery, technology (not flowers, nature, animals or people).

6. Other – any other subject matter not specified for a class above: i.e. any images that have been digitally altered, contain abstract imagery, nighttime star photography, blurs, etc.

7. Phone images – any size

8. Humor – anything that strikes you funny!

SECTION B: TEENS (Ages 13-18)

Print size: 5”x7” or 8”x10”

CLASSES:
